"I chose EIU because it has a long standing history of teaching and equipping the next generation of educators. I learned so much about myself and what kind of Physical Education teacher I aspire to be. I still remember how nervous I felt the first time I taught a lesson in class to my college peers. Now as I'm in my semester of student teaching, I feel my professors have prepared me well in so many aspects of teaching. I have gained more confidence in planning lessons, managing the gym, and building relationships with my students. The PE department gave me so many opportunities to create and teach lessons in my classes and real world experiences by going to local schools to teach as well. If I had to make the decision again, I'd chose Eastern every time!"Rachel KoonKinesiology, Sport & Recreation: Physical Education Teacher Licensure (K-12) | Class of 2026, KSR Major
