As we prepare to bid farewell to Joy Rainey at the end of this week, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation for everything she has brought to our department. Joy's exceptional support, willingness to go above and beyond, and eagerness to give her time and energy whenever it was needed have been truly invaluable. We simply couldn’t have managed without her steadfast commitment and the positive spirit she brought to the office each day. Though her absence will be felt deeply, the impact of her work will carry on. We wish Joy nothing but success and happiness in the future—she will be greatly missed.

As we bid farewell to Dr. Aaron White at the end of this week, it’s hard to put into words how much he will be missed. His exceptional organization, leadership, and unwavering dedication have left an indelible mark on the College of Education, the School of Extended Learning, and EIU as a whole. Dr. White has not only been a great boss but also a true friend who has inspired us with his professionalism, compassion, and vision. Though his absence will certainly be felt, his impact will continue to shape our programs for years to come. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors and look forward to seeing where his next adventure leads him!

Steve went above and beyond in the Medical Clinic to fix our radio. We appreciate everything you did!

Freddie makes executing major events an easy, seamless process. She is always there to answer questions, solve last minute problems and ensure that the event host, and EIU, provide an excellent experience for individuals and organizations visiting our campus. She never seems annoyed or stressed when I run to her at the last minute to fix something I missed. Hats off to Freddie for making us all look better than we are!

Less than three months into her role and less than a week into the Tarble’s open season, Mya has become an invaluable member of Team Tarble and the reason we’ve been able to extend our open hours, all while effortlessly having the most incredible earring game on campus. Mya, thanks for all your hard work, especially having guided ELEVEN class visits in only the last few days. Cheers!

I can't say enough about Amy and the amazing job she is doing in her position at Tower Dining! Amy has understood the assignment and then some!

Huge shout out to Amber Webb in the Academic Support Center! As Director of the Center, Amber manages all aspects of the department daily with a cheerful attitude and grace. She is an asset to EIU! Thank you, Amber, for all you do for the students and staff.

Arlene did a fabulous job of scheduling all the necessary rooms of the library for our upcoming 2-day Higher Learning Commission accreditation site visit. I know she had to do some rearranging of previously scheduled events so I'm really thankful she was so accommodating!

Wendy is such an amazing office manager. She is so kind and always quick to motivate CHE students when they need it. Thank you Wendy for being such a light in the department!

I want to shout out Dr. Alexis Jones from the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Foundations in the College of Education. She is helpful, caring, and deeply engaged in the work of the department. She is dependable, demonstrates a strong work ethic, and is vested in collaborating with students, colleagues, and the department to be successful. She is a true blessing!

It has truly been a pleasure to work with Melanee. She is willing to teach me and work with me through problem solving several situations. I appreciate you so much and your willingness to walk me through any situation. You are a great asset to EIU and international programs.

Ryan provided our Lumpkin College study abroad summer program to Italy with an outstanding flyer and poster that we will be able to use for promotions all around campus. The design turned out great of course, but Ryan went above and beyond in accommodating MANY MANY changes and tweaks so that we could get this final version right where we want it to be. She was quick on the changes and never once complained about us being a nuisance. Grazie mille Ryan!!!
