Daily Crime Log

The Police Department at Eastern Illinois University is required to create, maintain, and make available an easily understood daily crime log. The daily crime log must include the nature, date, time, general location of each crime that occurs within the institution’s Clery Geography, and the disposition of the complaint, if known. The University Police Department must make the entries available within two business days of the report of the information, unless the disclosure is prohibited by law or would jeopardize the confidentiality of the victim. The University Police Department may withhold this information if there is clear and convincing evidence that releasing it would jeopardize an ongoing criminal investigation or safety of the individual, cause the suspect to flee or evade detection, or result in the destruction of evidence. However, UPD must disclose any withheld information once the adverse effect is no longer likely to occur. The University Police Department is required to make the crime log for the most recent 60-day period open to the public inspection during normal business hours and any portion of the log older than sixty days available within two business days of a request for public inspection.

The burglary was not in progress at the time of the report. There are currently no suspects identified. The victim has indicated a desire to pursue charges if a suspect is located. The report is active and under investigation.

2025-11-17	Theft	Campus	On 11/17/25 at 5:23 pm, a student reported lost wallet on campus sidewalk. When the wallet was returned, there was money missing.
2025-11-17		Campus	On November 17, 2025, at 11:09 a.m., a complainant reported that a male individual has been following her. The complainant declined police intervention and requested that no action be taken by UPD at this time.
2025-11-17	Theft/Dis Con	Campus	On 11/17/25 at 5:10 pm, an unknown female entered dining center and did not prepay. She proceeded to curse at the staff, get food and drink and left.
2025-11-18	Obstruction of Identification	Campus	On 11/18/25 at 1:09 pm, a male was reported for strange behavior, when asked multiple times by officers for identification, he did not comply.
2025-11-17		Public Property	On 11/17/25 at 10:02 pm, a report was made to CPD of a sex assault that occurred in Coles County. This is an other agency assist.
2025-11-19	Criminal Trespass to State Land	Campus	On 11/19/25 at 10:45 pm, an individual was discovered inside Doudna after being banned from the property the prior day.
2025-11-20	Criminal Trespass	Campus	On 11/20/2025 at 2:12 pm, UPD officers responded to Blair Hall for a suspicious male. Andrew Stanley was arrested at 2:25 p.m. for criminal trespass to state supported land and released with a NTA.
