EIU Graduate Assessment

Submission of Graduate Program

Assessment Reports

On a biennial basis, the Graduate School collects, reviews, and provides feedback on graduate assessment reports. Assessment reports will be reviewed by the Graduate Program Assessment Committee. Following the review, each graduate program will use the response from the Graduate Program Assessment Committee as a guide for making improvements as necessary.

Assessment reports should be completed by utilizing the Program Assessment Form template. To download a Word (.doc) version, please click here: Program Assessment Form template (MS Word Version).

Assessment reports should be submitted via email by OCTOBER 15th to Dr. Angela S. Jacobs, L. M. Hamand Dean of the Graduate School.

Graduate programs will follow the reporting cycle listed in the table below. Graduate programs seeking an exception to their regularly scheduled  assessment reports must request an exception from the Dean of the Graduate School. To receive an exception, the graduate program must demonstrate that the following standards have been met:

  • Sustained a record of assessment over the previous two years through the Graduate School.
  • Evidence of robust direct and indirect assessment measures of Council on Graduate Studies learning goals must be provided.
  • Evidence of how the program has used assessment data to evaluate the graduate program and where appropriate has used assessment findings to strengthen the program must be provided.
  • Positive responses from the Graduate Assessment Coordinator must be received.
