Accommodation Letter Procedures
- Current students should log in to the A&A portal each semester to send a letter to each of their instructors electronically
- Students can sign in using their EIU ID and password (do NOT include "@eiu.edu" on
the EIU ID)
- Follow these steps:
- Select the "Accommodation" tab at the top of the page
- On the next page, observe the list of instructors next to checkboxes. Select each
instructor that should receive the accommodation letter. It is the student's choice
which instructors receive the letter
- Utilize the space beneath the instructor list to communicate with the instructors
if desired. The A&A strongly suggests scheduling a follow-up meeting with instructors
- Select the "Email" button on the bottom of the page
- If a copy of the letter is desired, a student may select "Print" to either print or
download the letter
- Instructors must be given a minimum of one week to prepare for testing accommodations
when possible
- If a student is not being accommodated or is experiencing difficulty and would like
to have additional accommodations considered, they need to contact A&A right away
- Students should let A&A know if they have issues or concerns as they happen. This
can help prevent more difficult issues from occurring.
- For students with temporary accommodations, please note that these are only applicable
to one semester
