Charleston, IL -- Eastern Illinois University's Booth Library invites patrons to “trick or treat” themselves with a new book during October by participating in “Blind Date with a Book: Love at First Bite.”
The library debuted the “Blind Date with a Book” program in February 2022. Because of its popularity, the Booth Public Services Committee has made it a recurring event, with seasonal campaigns each February and October.
Through “Blind Date with a Book: Love at First Bite,” patrons choose from several books wrapped in brown paper with descriptive hints written on the front. Patrons check out the book at the Circulation desk and then take it home to reveal their “blind date.”
Inside the book is a “How Was Your Blind Date” card that invites patrons to post on their favorite social media the “big reveal” and their opinion about the book they selected.
Patrons are invited to choose their blind date from the table located on the main floor near the Circulation desk beginning Oct. 2. For more information on the program, visit the website, www.library.eiu.edu; call (217) 581-6061; or find the library on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
