Illinois Art Education Association Names 2023 State Award Winner Merry K. Lanker

(Illinois) -- The Illinois Art Education Association selected EIU Alum and middle school art educator at Decatur Public Schools Merry K. Lanker (M.F.A. 2107) as the 2023 Junior High/Middle Level Art Educator of the Year.

Merry K. Lanker is the 2023 IAEA Junior High/Middle Level Art Educator of the Year. Merry K. Lanker is employed at Stephen Decatur Middle School.

Annually, the IAEA recognizes the top art, design, and media educators for their excellence and service to the field. The IAEA awards and scholarship committee found Merry K. Lanker ’s professional performance, service, and leadership to be
exemplary in every regard and selected her for this recognition.
