February events scheduled at EIU’s Doudna Fine Arts Center

(Charleston, IL) –This February, Eastern Illinois University’s Doudna Fine Arts Center will host a variety of unique shows and performances. Doudna shows this spring will range from jazz performances and choral ensembles to orchestral performances and electronic music.
Doudna’s February programming includes:
- 61st Annual EIU Jazz Festival featuring marquee trumpeter Marquis Hill
Friday, February 7; 7:30 p.m. in the Doudna Theatre
From his beginnings as one of Chicago’s most thrilling young trumpeters to his current status as internationally renowned musician, composer and bandleader Marquis Hill has worked tirelessly to break down the barriers that divide musical genres.

- Choral Ensembles - Songs of Love

- Kristina Reiko Cooper Trio - Around the World with Love
Thursday, February 13; 7:30 p.m. in the Doudna Recital Hall
Cello virtuoso Kristina Reiko Cooper has won worldwide acclaim for her musical diversity, artistry, and charismatic stage presence. Her credits range from having received degrees her education at The Juilliard School to serving as visiting professor at Tel Aviv University, Israel. The Kristina Reiko Cooper Trio’s Around the World with Love is “an adventure in love, multimedia and music…so artistically sensual that it will whisk your heart away.”
