(Charleston, IL) – Eastern Illinois University and Hit-Mix 88.9 WEIU-FM alumna Emma Roark won fourth place in the College Broadcasters, Inc. National Student Production Award for Best Feature New Reporting for audio. Roark earned the award for her work on the WEIU segment “Vest for Vito.”
Roark is from Olney, Illinois, and studied Mass Communication at EIU. She graduated from EIU in May 2019, accumulating several awards and acknowledgements during her time working with WEIU, including a Silver Dome Award for Best Radio News Story.
Eastern Illinois University has produced a variety of students who have earned career accolades and awards in journalism and broadcasting.
