EIU to host vendor fair, clarify procurement protocols in September 17 event

(Charleston, IL) – Eastern Illinois University President Dr. David Glassman will join with members of the university’s Department of Procurement, Disbursements and Contract Services to invite local business owners to the Eastern Illinois University All In Vendor Fair. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 17 in the university’s Grand Ballroom in the Martin Luther King, Jr. University Union, 600 Lincoln Avenue in Charleston. The fair will begin with opening remarks at 10 a.m. from attending dignitaries.

Universities utilize various products and services in their routine upkeep, including a variety of maintenance, operations, and construction professionals; office, medical, and janitorial supplies, and printing and landscaping equipment.  Eastern’s All In Vendor Fair is intended to create opportunities to connect local and statewide minority, veteran, and small business owners with EIU and other state university contacts, as well as a variety of EIU’s regular vendors. In addition, the fair will provide opportunities to discuss and learn about University and State of Illinois procurement procedures and protocols, including what EIU can do for them, and what opportunities are available for providing goods and services to EIU and other universities throughout the state.
