Eastern Illinois University’s Office of Fraternity and Sorority Programs awarded Jeremy Alexander, associate director for Marketing and Greek Court with University Housing and Dining Services, the 2018 Outstanding Fraternity and Sorority Advocate award.
The award recognizes those who are outside of the fraternity and sorority community but work to support students and advocate on their behalf. EIU student Halee Barker, a special education major from Chicago Ridge involved in fraternity and sorority programs on campus, nominated Alexander for the distinction. Alexander directly oversees the Greek Court area of campus and works with staff in multiple departments to ensure the best residential experience possible for Greek Court students.
Barker’s nomination explained that Alexander “encourages hard work, teamwork, and community bonding” and “deserves this award because he would do anything to improve Greek Court, an area vital to sorority and fraternity recruitment, and Greek community events.”
