Twenty-five students earn recognition for academic, community commitment
Eastern Illinois University has announced its 2018 Distinguished Senior Award recipients.
Distinguished seniors at EIU are individuals who have enriched the university community with their active involvement in all facets of campus life. The Distinguished Senior Awards recognize those who have demonstrated outstanding character and leadership through academic achievement, campus and community involvement, and/or extra-curricular honors or awards. Recipients must be planning to graduate in the 2018 calendar year and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
This year, EIU recognized 25 recipients of the award, presented by the EIU Alumni Association, during an on-campus luncheon in late April. Those Distinguished Seniors include:

“Through their efforts in and out of the classroom, these students represent and demonstrate EIU’s commitment to creating responsible citizens and leaders,” said Steve Rich, assistant vice president for Advancement at EIU. “We’re proud to recognize their accomplishments as Eastern students, and to celebrate their achievements and involvement in the regional and local communities they serve.”
