EIU Alum and 2007 Georgia Radio Hall of Fame inductee Gary McKee has passed away at 81

Gary McKee was a legendary Atlanta radio host in the 1970s and ‘80s who brought high energy to a top-rated morning show on WQXI-AM and 94Q (now Star 94), He began his radio career at a station in Mount Carmel, Illinois, at age 17 before graduating from EIU in 1968. After two years serving in Vietnam, McKee returned to the States to work briefly at radio stations in Pensacola, Florida and Cincinnati before his career in radio took off at WQXI Atlanta in 1971. | news
