The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Eastern Illinois University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Analytical or Experimental Physical Chemistry position, starting August 2026.
A Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field is required, with post-doctoral experience preferred. Teaching duties will include undergraduate and graduate (MS) courses in analytical chemistry and/or physical chemistry, as well as general chemistry/general education courses. Establishing an active externally funded research program with undergraduate and MS students and participation in department and university service activities is expected.

The collective bargaining agreement sets a starting wage at $7,200-7,700 monthly for a 9-month contract.
